Baby Amy Sucks
Posted by admin | Filed under Amy
Literally. Aleena and I were at the hospital last night. The nurses want Aleena to practice breast-feeding with the baby. Amy latched on and began her dinner. This doesn’t sound like too much, but it’s actually a pretty big deal for a premature baby to suck, swallow and breathe so quickly. She has caught on to this much faster than expected and we can only hope that means that she can gain some weight and come home to us sooner than later.
Anyways, it’s such a joy to tell people that my kid sucks!

May 8th, 2008 at 7:44 pmCongratulations on your new beautiful baby girl. Melissa showed me your awesome website so I felt compelled to register myself. As a former NICU Mother… I can truly understand the amount of time, commitment, and strength it takes to get through your days. I wish your family well and will keep you ALL in my prayers. All the milestones that Amy will have in the NICU will become more and more wonderful as time passes… I can totally appreciate that she “sucks.” It is such a relief when that point is reached!

May 12th, 2008 at 7:20 amI am glad to have found this website. thanks for keeping us updated. I hope everything is going O.K. We’ll check here often (instead of bugging you at home
) I love the name Amy. I’m planning to bring dinner on Thursday May 15. In R.S. yesterday they said that 4:00 to 5:00 is the best time to bring it. Is that still true? Take care. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
